Happiness is a state of being that feels pleasurable and positive.

To me, it’s when your head and heart are in alignment;

  • Head – It’s when you find yourself embodied, present and joyful.- without all the negative self-talk.

  • Heart – you feel a sense of fulfillment, living according to your values and purpose

Happiness only ever exists in the now.

The idea of “I’ll be happy when…” is a complete fallacy.

You ALREADY ARE in that place that you dreamt of so many “I’ll be happy when’s” ago …

So by all means, have dreams, have aspirations, but make sure that you appreciate the happiness that they create.

Otherwise, what’s the point?

On Happiness & Gratitude

Where attention goes, energy flows.

Gratitude is taking a moment to take stock of all the things you’ve got to be happy about. And when you’re feeling love, gratitude and positivity, you’re priming your mind to attract more of that in your life.

Happiness and gratitude are directly correlated.

Often we look for happiness through distraction e.g. binge-watching tv or scrolling through social media. Whilst there’s a value in being able to switch off, these activities don’t create happiness, growth or fulfillment.

This is because we zone out; our minds are transported elsewhere.

Things like going for a walk in nature, doing exercise, connecting with loved ones and friends, meditating, yoga etc. also help us switch off our over-thinking minds, but they are much more embodied experiences.

And when we’re in our body, we can start to notice and appreciate what a beautiful day it is, the love and affection of someone close to us and the abundance we already have available to us.

This is where gratitude naturally arises.

Like happiness, you can’t have either unless you’re present.
